The last slot for EVO 2017’s main lineup of games was decided through the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity campaign, which was won by Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in a close last minute race with Pokkén Tournament.
Of the above nine titles, fans got to vote in the which game makes it into EVO 2017’s final slot through donations which saw Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 come out on top with a total of $71,690. It ended up being a pretty close race with Pokkén Tournament finishing second place with $62,431 donated.
While Pokkén Tournament didn’t make it to the top, EVO’s official Twitter account announced that the organization is committing $10,000 to support Pokkén tournaments in 2017 for its incredible effort.
EVO 2017 is scheduled to take place from July 14th through July 16th at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Read more about this year’s event in our earlier report.
