When the Nintendo Switch launches on March 3, it’ll be ready to go with the Nintendo eShop and its lineup of downloadable games, but what will be missing is the Virtual Console at launch.

According to Nintendo, Virtual Console games will not be available on Nintendo Switch at launch;however, the company will share more information about that in the future.;

Nintendo also shared additional news about the launch of Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch. Firstly, they address what many of you have been wondering—what happens to funds in their accounts on other Nintendo devices? well, they’ll be available through a shared wallet that works on Nintendo Switch as well. After linking a Nintendo Network ID and Nintendo Account, then onto the Switch system, this functionality becomes possible.

A news feature for the Switch will also offer updates about the latest additions to Nintendo eShop to keep you up to date, as well as information on upcoming games and other updates from Nintendo. A system update will be available on launch date for the Switch that will be required to access the eShop. You’ll get to download the system update in the background while playing games, as it was designed to install quickly without disrupting gameplay.

Here are some details on three indie games that will be available on the March 3 launch date:

  • FAST RMX from Shin’en Multimedia: Challenge your friends to local split-screen competition or take part in online races against players from all over the world. This lightning-fast anti-gravity racer is exclusive to Nintendo Switch.

  • Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment from Yacht Club Games: The latest DLC for the critically acclaimed hit Shovel Knight is a full-featured game starring Specter Knight, one of the enemies from the original game. The massive campaign includes even more content than the last DLC, Plague of Shadows. Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment is exclusive to Nintendo Switch for a limited time.

  • Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove from Yacht Club Games: For Shovel Knight’s biggest fans, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove includes the original Shovel Knight game, as well as all previously released DLC – even Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment!
