Ubisoft kicked off its E3 2017 presentation with Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The strategy game has seen many leaks over the last few weeks and months, and now we have official confirmation, a trailer, and a release date. It will come to the Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2017. It will use amiibos to unlock extra features and feature music from Grant Kirkhope, who did the Banjo-Kazooie and Yooka-Laylee‘s soundtracks.
In Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, the Rabbids have come to the Mushroom Kingdom and are taking it over. There’s even a Rabbid version of Donkey Kong. It is up to Mario, Peach, Luigi, Yoshi, and four Rabbids that resemble each of them to save the day. The solo campaign features four worlds, with players picking three members of their party to participate in each turn-based battle. Every character has their own equipment and movesets, and destroying the environment is a part of gameplay.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle also has a multiplayer component. There are cooperative challenges where each player uses two characters. Each challenge is available in multiple difficulty levels.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will come to the Nintendo Switch on August 29, 2017. In addition to a standard edition, the Collector’s Edition comes with a 6” tall Rabbid Mario, soundtrack, and collector’s cards. Pre-orders of the standard or collector’s edition will give people eight extra weapons.
