Square Enix shared the latest on Dragon Quest XI with a look at the RPG’s prologue video, showing how life started out for the protagonist. The prologue shows King Delkadal and what looks like other kings gathered together to discuss a newborn child. They appear to be certain about the baby, who has an unmistakable birthmark. The next part shows a castle engulfed in flames with an assault from monsters, with the mother making a run for it with her children. After a turn of unfortunate events, the baby is found drifting on a river, only to be found by a kind old man who take him in. This marks the start of a new life, for the protagonist, a reincarnation of the hero. Dragon Quest XI releases in Japan on July 29, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch.
