Jack Frost And Jack-o’-Lantern Featured In An Atlus’ Side-Scroller That You Wish Were Real

In a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux on 3DS, Atlus showed a Metroidvania-style game featuring Jack Frost and Jack-o’-Lantern that will make you wish it were real.

The trailer is for Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, but it starts out with footage of a high-quality “fake” side-scroller game featuring Jack Frost and Jack-o’-Lantern.

While the footage of the side-scroller game ends with the words “this is a lie,” it looks like Atlus put good effort into their joke. Perhaps we may see it release some day in the form of a bonus item or even a digital title, but in any case, it wouldn’t be the first time prank turns into an actual game.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux launches in Japan on October 26, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS. The game launches in North America and Europe in early 2018.
