Etrian Odyssey X Trailer Highlights Sovereign, Shogun, Zodiac, Ninja, And Farmer Classes

Recommended Videos

The big “crossover title” Etrian Odyssey X features a bunch of classes from past games. Today we have a trailer featuring the Sovereign, Shogun, Zodiac, Ninja, and Farmer classes from Etrian Odyssey III.

The video starts out with a look at the Sovereign class (called Prince & Princess in Japanese) that focuses on powerful voices to lead their team to victory by boosting the party morale. They mostly specialize in providing a variety of buffs for the  party.

Next is the Shogun class, known for its offensive capabilities with a side of support. They have high attack power using their Katana to perform heavy hits as well as passive skills such as Endure that has a chance of leaving you with 1HP after taking a fatal attack once per battle. They also have the “Blitz Command” that orders all allies to attack with their equipped weapons.

The Zodiac class does elemental damage using its specialized astrological magic. They’re more of your traditional mage class, but they have access to powerful skills like Meteor that deals massive strike damage at random (x2-5). Zodiacs have the useful “Horoscope” skill that reveals the location of nearby FOEs for a period of time.

The Ninja is a class that is all about its agility and versatile skills. In true ninja fashion, they have skills such as “Bunshin” that uses half their HP and TP to create a copy of the same character in the party. The “Tagen Battou” skill allows Ninjas to team up with their own shadow for random slashes (x2~3).

Lastly, we have the Farmer class, which isn’t useful in terms of combat, but have all kinds of quirky skills that provide support for the party. They’re also useful outside battles with the ability to nullify floor damage or avoid enemy encounters for a limited number of steps.

Etrian Odyssey X releases in Japan on August 2, 2018 for Nintendo 3DS. You can check out some more class highlights with the new Hero class here; the Protector, Ronin, Medic, and Survivalist here; the Highlander, Gunner, and War Magus here.
