During the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct Nintendo revealed that the Monster Hunter series’ King of the Skies, Rathalos, will appear as a boss character as well as an Assist Trophy.
You can check out the Rathalos footage starting at the 51:24 mark in the Direct. Rathalos is the first character to appear as both a boss character and Assist Trophy. Rathalos also comes with the new Ancestral Steppe stage from Monster Hunter 4.
