Umihara Kawase Fresh! Gets Its First Screenshot; Will Be Considered For Other Platforms

Success recently announced Umihara Kawase Fresh! as a new entry for the series headed to Switch, and we got a look at its first screenshot along with some info on the upcoming rubbering action game.

Success also had some info to share over at its official Twitter account starting with some talk about its gameplay, which will go from a stage system to a quest system. The map will be connected in Metroidvania fashion, where advanced players can go for the time attack by using technique and shortcuts, and novice players can take their time and go the longer way.

With it now using a quest system on a big map instead of a stage-based system, you can pick quests without time limits to go to any part of the map without clearing the quest. You can keep going up or keep going downwards to see a completely different world. You’ll also get to change difficulties.

Similar to previous Umihara Kawase games that had multiple characters, Umihara Kawase Fresh! will also have other characters besides Kawase. There’s also a brand-new character. As a matter of fact, creating that character was one of the requests from Success. However, we won’t even see this character at TGS 2018.

Umihara Kawase Fresh! will release for Nintendo Switch in 2019. While the game is being made for Switch, Success will consider other platforms after its release. Since it isn’t being made for multiplatform, development for a port would have to start after its initial release on Switch.
