Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Introduces Mimikyu, Fox, And The First Fighter Flashback

Recommended Videos

This week’s Super Smash Blog introduced Fox, Dr. Mario, Mimikyu, Wii Fit Trainer, the returning Boxing Ring stage, an arrangement from Fire Emblem Awakening, and surprisingly, a Fighter Flashback – a reminder of which game the featured fighter originated from. These Flashbacks have been steadily been shown on the Japanese Super Smash Blog, but Fox’s is the first to be translated over to the English version.

#07 Fox

He can overwhelm his opponents with his quick movements, and his specials don’t leave him open for counterattacks. His costume and voice have been redone to match his appearance in Star Fox Zero. This Fox is brand new! “Come on!”

Fighter Flashback – Fox

fox flashback 2

He made his first appearance in Star Fox, released in 1993. Fox is the leader of the mercenary group Star Fox. He cares about his team and has a strong sense of justice. Fun fact: Star Fox was the first game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System™ that featured 3D graphics.

#47 Wii Fit Trainer

A fighter that attacks with healthy moves like stretching and yoga poses. You can pick between male and female versions. Charging up Sun Salutation all the way recovers a bit of health!

#18 Dr. Mario

He has more attack and launch power than Mario, but his jump and recovery is not as good. Pro tip: You can repeatedly press the B button when using his down special, Dr. Tornado, to float a bit!

Mimikyu – New Assist Pokémon

Mimikyu drags a nearby opponent under its rag and attacks them! The opponent cannot move while captured by Mimikyu, and if they end up with more than 100% damage after the attack, they’ll be instantly KO’d.

Boxing Ring – Returning Stage

You can jump really high using the ringside rope. And when you attack the lights on the ceiling…well, you’ll have to wait and see. By the way, holding down the L button when selecting this stage will turn this into the Punch-Out!! version of the Boxing Ring!

Id (Purpose) – New Arrangement

You can now listen to “Id (Purpose).” Enjoy Takeshi Kuramochi’s arrangement as you reminisce about the moment you changed destiny!

Arrangement supervisor: Takeshi Kuramochi (known for work on Pachislot Castlevania and BEMANI series)
