Disgaea RPG has been in maintenance hell since its launch on March 19 due to a variety of issues that followed with a big drop in share price for Nippon Ichi Software, but we finally got an update from NIS and ForwardWorks on what’s going to happen with the game.
ForwardWorks and Nippon Ichi Software, the co-developers of Disgaea RPG, companies apologize deeply for the continued maintenance and all the inconveniences that came with it, and they say that they’re working diligently to put together a reliable service as soon as possible.
As a result of re-examining the infrastructure and application, it was deemed that major repairs were needed across the board. The repair plans have been set into motion, and the companies have already begun working on fixes, but it’s been estimated that it’ll take over three months to get everything done, including the testing that will take place before service launches once again. We can expect to hear more about the repair progress later.
Additionally, it was announced that there will be a complete data reset, so that means all saves will be reset by the time Disgaea RPG relaunches. Since a majority of players weren’t able to play the game early on, many missed bonuses such as daily logins and campaigns, so the companies felt that starting fresh would be the best way to start the new service.
There were also issues that came from data that was originally made for testing purposes that got mixed into the full service version, which they were able to verify as the root of some of the problems. After further examination, the development team decided that the best way to put all the play data in order would require a complete reset for the next service launch.
The developers deeply apologize again about the major inconvenience, and will provide more information later to those who’ve already spent money on microtransactions.
Disgaea RPG is in development for iOS and Andorid. The game has been removed from the App Store and Google Play, but it’ll be updated with a new application install for the relaunch. More information will be shared on a later date.
