Previously, the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter page offered an update that confirmed the team was aware of serious issues with the Nintendo Switch version and was beginning work on the patches needed to fix it. Now, a second Kickstarter note has detailed exactly what will be done and which problems will be repaired first. The first three issues will be repaired with patches over the next few weeks.
The update from 505 Games Global Brand Manager Roberto Piraino began by revealing work on one issue has already been completed by ArtPlay and WayForward, and two are still in the works. In the Nintendo Switch Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night version, HD rumble can be used to indicate how much health Miriam has. Work on a fix to improve it is already done. The other two immediate issues involve “crash stability” and “optimizing Miriam’s jump.” People will see patches that solve these three issues “over the next few weeks.”

The teams are also at work on a variety of updates to the game and engine, including:
- Optimizing animation for certain enemies (WayForward is testing some techniques to accomplish big things here, but it may be risky and require lots of testing, may need to be pushed to a later update)
- Addressing input delay wherever it occurs
- Switch-specific loading optimizations (this requires a bit more work, and will probably be in the last "ASAP" patches)
Obviously the above plan will adapt as we identify priorities and new tasks and as we add development resources, but we’ll keep you updated as we go.
Piraino’s Kickstarter update also noted that 505 Games and ArtPlay are aware of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night localization issues in some languages. A localization pass in effect for the scripts, and a call was put out for people to report things that have seen that are concerning in the game’s official forum.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
