Yakuza: Like a Dragon Shows Off Ijincho At Night, And Delivery Help Summons

Recommended Videos

During TGS 2019 today, Sega showed off a bit more of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, focusing on introducing different areas in the town of Ijincho at night, as well as showing off the Delivery Help (summons) system.

At the side of the UI is the minimap, which will also tell you what area you’re currently in. Each area has its own monster strength levels, and it’s for the best to avoid areas with strong enemies if you aren’t high level enough yet. As the town is quite large, there are a large variety of enemies spread out across the districts. There are also separate maps that act as dungeons for enemy headquarters.

Sega also went in-depth on the Job Change system, and how you’ll need to reach certain stats by playing at Play Spots and other methods in order to swap to certain jobs.

The final showcase in today’s gameplay demo was the Delivery Help system, which essentially are monster summons in RPGs. However, in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, you use money to pay for the help, so beware of using too much money. The summonable characters include cameos from characters in previous Yakuza games, such as Gary Buster Holmes from the original Yakuza, to even non-human characters like a lobster summon.

Famitsu has also put up off-screen gameplay for Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s gameplay demo, which you can find here:

Finally, we have an off-screen look at new Play Spot ‘Dragon Kart’, as well as aluminium can garbage collection minigame below:
