People who decided to pick up Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout on their computer have been reporting issues in Steam reviews. People have been complaining about pop-in textures, a lack of anti-aliasing, frame rate issues, resolution issues, and poor keyboard and mouse support. Now, Koei Tecmo has taken to Twitter to confirm that an optimization update that begins to address Atelier Ryza PC issues is on the way and to provide instructions to possibly help with frame rate issues.
Four main issues will be handled in this first Atelier Ryza PC optimization update. People will be able to adjust graphic options, set mouse controls, pick a screen resolution, and exit by visiting Ryza’s desk.
Here is Koei Tecmo’s exact description of what the patch will do.
Update details:
1. Addition of graphic options
An option to adjust various graphic expressions in the game will be added to the launcher displayed before starting the game.
Using the graphic option, you can adjust it according to your PC environment.2. Addition of mouse operations
In addition to the keyboard, mouse options can be set from the launcher displayed before the game starts.
You can play the game using the mouse by setting any controls to various buttons on the mouse.
Activating the “Allow mouse operation” option enables camera operation with the mouse.
3. Adjustment of screen resolution setting
Regarding the screen resolution that can be set in “Settings” of the launcher displayed before starting the game, it will be adjusted so that the maximum resolution can be selected according to the connected monitor even if it is not in full screen mode.
4. Improvement of usability
A function will be added so players can leave the game from the desk in the Atelier.
Here are the instructions Koei Tecmo offered to try and help avoid FPS drops.
If the game drops in FPS, try the following steps:
- Start NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Open “3D Settings” in “Select Task” and select “Manage 3D Settings.”
- Change the “Preferred Graphics Processor” setting to “High Performance NVIDIA Processor” on the “Global Settings” tab and click Apply.
- Restart the game.
