Microsoft is finally selling the 250 GB hard disk upgrade as a standalone item. The super-sized hard drive is currently available here, but only if you purchase a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 console.

Starting on March 11, the 250 GB hard drive will be sold by itself for 15,540 yen ($173). Since the announcement is from a Japanese press release there weren’t any details about a North American date. Xbox 360 hard drives are region free, aren’t they?
