Poor Europe. Our friends across the pond usually have to wait longer for localized RPGs, if they get them at all. Since Atlus doesn’t have a PAL branch, games like Devil Summoner and Luminous Arc 2 have to be distributed by another company like Koei or Rising Star Games.
3D Dot Game Heroes is being handled differently. SouthPeak Games will publish the retro dungeon crawler in Europe this May, the same time Atlus plans to publish the game in North America. “They [Southpeak Games] also recognise the frustration of many European gamers to not get exciting releases until months after other regions, which is why we’re working closely together to deliver a simultaneous launch for North America and Europe,” said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus.
Just to put this in perspective, Europe still has a list of Atlus USA localized titles to catch up on. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Knights in the Nightmare, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, The Dark Spire, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Crimsongem Saga, Demon’s Souls… etc. haven’t even been announced there.
