Sony has just announced a limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro to celebrate the company having sold 525.3 million PlayStation systems worldwide. It is called the 500 Million Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro. Only 50,000 of them will be sold worldwide, and they will become available on August 24, 2018. In addition, a 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 and a 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset will also be available.
The 500 Million Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro is a 2TB system with matching PlayStation Camera, DualShock 4 Controller, and Vertical Stand. (A mono headset is included, as always.) It has a translucent blue shell, with blue power light which lets you see inside, and a commemorative copper plate on the front of the system. (The PlayStation logo also appear in copper on the system.) On the plate is your console’s specific limited edition serial number on it, so you know which of the 50,000 units it is. It will be $499.99 USD/$639.99 CAD/€499. The European PlayStation Blog mentions there will be opportunities in win one in that region, but does not offer additional details.
While Sony has not said how many will be sold worldwide, the 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 and Gold Wireless Headset will also be available in small quantities. Like the console, these two accessories will be a dark, translucent blue with copper accents. The 500 Million Limited Edition DualShock 4 will be $64.99 USD/$74.99 CAD/€64, while the Gold Wireless Headset will be $99.99 USD/$119.99 CAD/€89. The North American PlayStation Blog says the controller and headset will appear in stores in early September 2018. The European PlayStation Blog notes that the controller will launch on August 24, 2018, but the headset will appear in that region on October 11, 2018,
The 500 Million Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro will release worldwide on August 24, 2018. The matching DualShock 4 will appear in Europe on the same day, but in North America in early September 2018. The 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset will appear in North America in early September 2018 and in Europe on October 11, 2018.
