After completing the tutorial players, can then check their mail to receive the Makeshift Fishing Rod. This is the most basic fishing rod that will be given to you by Einar, a local robot who enjoys fishing. However, there are three other fishing rods you can obtain through recipes. These include the Standard and Fine Fishing Rods.

You can obtain the recipe for the Standard, Fine, and Exquisite Fishing Rod from Einar, who is appropriately found around Fisherman’s Lagoon. He does wander from time to time, but never leaves the Kilima Region. This means he does not appear in Bahari Bay.

  • 1 Makeshift Rod
  • 5 Copper Bars
  • 20 Sapwood Plank

The Fine Fishing Rod will require the following materials:

  • 1 Standard Rod

The difference between these fishing rods is the amount of “line health” they have. Line health is effectively how much stamina you have while fishing, and how long you have to correct the direction of your line before the fish breaks off and escapes.

Palia is available for the PC and Nintendo Switch.
