The new key visual features main characters, Caiman and Nikado, throwing up the door to Nikaido’s restaurant, The Hungry Bug. On the side, it reads, “Welcome back, chaos.” Though it didn’t say which streaming network the sequel will appear on, Netflix had the streaming rights when Dorohedoro appeared outside of Japan in 2020. So it’s likely that Netflix will distribute it again.

Q Hayashida, the original mangaka for Dorohedoro, had this to say:

“I’m so happy to hear that they [MAPPA] will make a sequel anime for Dorohedoro! I’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the decision and project. Actually, production has been going on for a while now and I got to peek in on them from time to time. So I was really excited about this too. Though some time has passed since the first season, I hope you’ll all step into the world of Dorohedoro once again.”

Dorohedoro takes place in a post-apocalyptic magical setting, following an amnesiac reptilian man named Caiman. He’s searching for the sorcerer responsible for both his memory loss and his lizard head. His search for his identity and the sorcerer who wronged him has him wandering around the land with his friend Nikaido helping him.

Dorohedoro is streaming on Netflix, and the sequel is in production. MAPPA is also working on Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc.
