As part of the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Half Anniversary celebration, Square Enix announced that Cait Sith will appear in the game on April 4, 2024 in Japan and globally after. This comes after the April Fools’ Day joke worldwide was that Reeve Tuesti would be joining the Final Fantasy VII spin-off game.
First, in case you missed the April Fools’ Day announcement, here’s the “reveal” Reeve would be coming to the Final Fantasy VII title. It also showed an Inspire Limit Break for him that could “imbue inorganic enemies with life.”
As for the actual reveal about Cait Sith becoming playable in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, only the Japanese trailer is live right now. It confirms he’ll be a part of Chapter 6, which takes the original entry’s story to Costa del Sol and Gold Saucer in the mobile game. There will also be a gacha with new Easter-themed equipment and outfits for Cait Sith and Tifa.
The last playable character to join Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis was Yuffie. She debuted back in January 2024. If the game follows its current progress, we should see Cid and Vincent in 2024 too.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices. FFVII Remake is on the PS4, PS5, and PC, and Rebirth is on the PS5.
