Things We’d Like to See in Hades II

It’s no surprise that I’m excited for Hades II. Hades was the first game I’d ever given a perfect score to. So when Supergiant Games announced a sequel, I was more than excited to get my hands on the game. During my time with the technical test, I had a lot of fun. After having spent time with Hades II, here are some things that would be cool to see in Hades II.

Hades II Features we want to see

Multiplayer

Hades II features an entirely new protagonist, Melinoe, the sister of Zagreus and the daughter of Hades and Persephone. While this may not be possible for Supergiant Games to implement, given how small the stages in Hades II could be, it would be awesome to see some multiplayer aspect make it into the game. It would be cool to see Melinoe and Zagreus face off against enemies side-by-side, scaling Olympus or diving into the depths of hell together.

Boss Rush Mode

While I did enjoy the Heat mechanic from the first Hades, it left me wanting. See, I wasn’t so concerned about sweeping rooms of enemies as I was killing bosses as fast as possible. So, I’d love to see some kind of Boss Rush Mode in Hades II that lets me tackle the most challenging foes with some new mechanics. I just think it’d be neat!

More Love Interests

So far Hades II seems to have a total of two love interests; the menacing Nemesis and enigmatic Moro. The first Hades had something similar, with Meg and Thanatos being options for Zagreus. While I wasn’t left wanting in the first game, it’d be cool to have more than two romance options for Melinoe.

Dual Protagonists

Much like multiplayer, this seems like a feature that probably will not make it into the game. Hades II is about Melinoe, and I love what Supergiant Games has shown of her so far. She has the makings of a fantastic protagonist, and I can’t wait to see where her story will lead. But it would be cool to play Zagreus again, which leads me to the next thing I’d like to see in Hades II.

Character Swapping

Sometimes you just wanna return to the familiar. Which means, for now, booting up Hades. Having Zagreus as a character you could swap to in Hades II would be neat, however. Arguably, you’d probably have the same talents from the first Hades if he did show up as a playable character. But it’d be awesome to tackle some new challenges as the son of Hades.

And these are just a few of the things I’d like to see in Hades II. What are some things you’d like to see in Supergiant Games’ exciting adaptation of Greek myths? Let us know in the comments below!
