Dragon Quest Swords (minus the Dragon Quest)

Recommended Videos

Earlier this week Dragon Quest Swords finally arrived in North America and Gesturetek's sword demo bares some resemblance to the slime chopping Wii game. The difference is there aren't any monsters and this isn't for the Wii. Their tech demo managed to create a similar experience using a camera and a colorful sword. The camera identifies the different colors and uses them to place the swords position on the screen. I played around with it and the camera did a pretty good job of copying my swings and thrusts. Perhaps, Sony or Microsoft could use this technology to make Ratchet & Clank: Wrath of the Wrench or Halo Laser Swords respectively.
