Like a Dragon 8 Kazuma and Ichiban Yakuza Plushes Appear

Sega has released new sitting plushes modeled after Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, also known as Yakuza 8. The chibi plushes have average dimensions of 16 x 14 x 24 cm (~6.3 x 5.5 x 9.45 inches). Both plushes are available as exclusive prize items from the online crane game SEGA UFO Catcher Online.

The tweet from Sega’s official Japanese X account includes a link that leads to the SEGA UFO Catcher Online website. However, accessing the site from anywhere outside Japan will generate a “Restricted Access” message.

While these plushes are legally available only in Japan, there will be other merchandise related to the Like a Dragon / Yakuza series that will be available worldwide. In February 2024, Good Smile Company revealed chibi stock art of Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and Ichiban Kasuga. The company will eventually turn the art into Nendoroid figures and open their pre-orders globally.

The sitting plushes of Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga are immediately available in Japan via SEGA UFO Catcher Online. Sega modeled these chibi plushes after the characters’ appearances in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, which is alternatively known in Japan as Ryu ga Gotoku 8 and available worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC. Sega has sold over 1 million units of the game as of early February 2024.
