The July 2025 Pokemon Presents closed out with Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and it went over characters from the new installment and the two early-purchase bonus rewards. A number of allies and enemies came up in the latest trailer. We also learned everyone gets a Ralts holding Gardevoirite Stone, to eventually get Mega Gardevoir, and the digital version extra is a serial code for 100 Poke Balls. There will also be a Switch 2 bundle sold for $499.99, which will include a digital copy of the game and the system, available starting on October 16, 2025.

In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, our avatar is a newcomer to Lumiose City. The goal is for the city where humans and Pokemon can live in peace. Depending on the character you create to represent yourself, Taunie or Urbain will meet you as your first friend in the city and make you part of Team MZ. Your goal is to find out why some Pokemon are Mega Evolving on their own and causing trouble, while also generally keeping the peace and ensuring everyone can live happily. Alongside Taunie or Urbain, you’ll also be aided by Lida and Naveen. You’ll also go through Z-A Royale fights to climb ranks and face the city’s trainers, who are both peaceful or part of the villainous Rust Syndicate.

Here’s the full Pokemon Presents July 2025 showcase. The trailer for this game also shows off the different trainer customization options and Furfrou designs.

Nintendo and Game Freak gradually shared quite a bit of Pokemon Legends: Z-A details leading up to launch. For example, in February 2025 we got to see gameplay footage. The May 2025 announcement involved a release date.

The Pokemon Legends: Z-A release date is October 16, 2025, and we’ll find it on both the Switch and Switch 2.
