Konami issued an update about the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Fox Hunter multiplayer mode on social media, and it confirmed this will not be a cross-play experience that allows people from all platforms to play together. The PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions will all be separated. So someone on a PS5 will only be able to play with others on that same system.
The announcement didn’t explain any decisions for why Fox Hunt won’t support cross-play, as it only offered an alert for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater potential players to be aware of the multiplayer situation. There has been no follow-up to discuss if it could be considered or somehow possible. We likely won’t know more about the situation for a while. After all, that mode will be a post-launch update and arrive in Fall 2025.
We do at least have an idea of how the multiplayer will work. It will rely on stealth elements. This means there will be some players who are hiding. Those of us playing will need to complete objectives while possibly also remaining unseen.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will come out on August 28, 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, and the Fox Hunt online multiplayer mode will debut sometime in Fall 2025. Standard and collector’s editions will be available.
