Konami announced on social media that there will be a Suikoden Star Leap manga adaptation, and Suikoden III: The Successor of Fate manga creator Aki Shimizu will be involved with it. It will appear in the manga magazine Monthly Comic Flapper, though we don’t know how frequently chapters will appear yet. We do know the first chapter will debut in the December 2025 installment, which appears on November 5, 2025. It’s unknown if we’ll eventually see it in English.
We had a hint that Shimizu would be involved with Suikoden again ahead of this reveal, as Konami got a comment from the creator for the Star Leap website. In the “message” section. However, that didn’t act as a teaser in any way. The artist only said, “A new addition to the Suikoden series, after a long silence! I’m already looking forward to meeting him…and her…and all the others.”
This marks the fourth Suikoden manga adaptation. Yu Hijikata handled manga adaptations of Suikoden and Suikoden II, and Shimizu worked on the adaptation of the third one. When those three were running, they also appeared in Monthly Comic Flapper. Tokyopop handled the English release of it and released 11 volumes in North America, but it is now out of print.
The Suikoden Star Leap manga run will start in Japan on November 5, 2025, when it appears in the December 2025 Monthly Comic Flapper installment, and there’s no release date for the PC and mobile game yet.
