Shueisha announced that it has delayed the release of the Dragon Ball Double Cover Box. Originally slated for release on February 4, 2026, the new compilation of the original manga series will instead be available roughly two months later on April 3, 2026.

The pre-order window for the compilation ran from May 2025 to early August 2025. But even with the limited period, Shueisha still received an overwhelming amount of pre-orders that exceeded its expectations. The company cited that as the main reason for it to require more time to produce more copies to satisfy all orders.

The Dragon Ball Double Cover Box will consist of four boxes containing the complete set of the original manga’s 42-volume series that began in late 1984 and concluded in mid-1995. The stories in this series were adapted to two separate-but-continuous anime shows: Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

The Double Cover Box will also feature new covers for all volumes included inside. The front covers will still feature original illustrations by the late Akira Toriyama, but the back covers will newly feature the alternate Super Gallery illustrations drawn by other artists, such as One Piece‘s Eiichiro Oda and Slam Dunk‘s Takehiko Inoue. In addition, the box will come with eight bookmarks featuring Toriyama’s illustrations.

The delayed Dragon Ball Double Cover Box, containing the full 42-volume set, will now be available in Japan on April 3, 2026.
