A major Pikmin 4 update will debut in November 2025, and it will add an easier Relaxed Mode, more challenging Fierce Mode, Decor Pikmin in costumes, and a Photo Mode in a patch. In addition, a matching update for Pikmin Bloom with Ice Pikmin will show up on November 1, 2025.

Nintendo went over all the new features in Pikmin 4 with a trailer that started with the Photo Mode, shared some Decor Pikmin, then highlighted unique traits of Relaxed and Fierce Modes. The Photo Mode is triggered by using the Field Camera when in a stage. Using it lets you set up a picture, add stamps of characters and effects, then include a frame. Decor Pikmin are versions of characters wearing costumes. They’ll be in different locations, and Dingo will give you hints about where each one is in a spot. The example screenshot showed three possible spots for ones in Sun-Speckled Terrace. Those ones can be sent to Pikmin Bloom if you connect your account. As for the Relaxed and Fierce Modes, those refer to Creature Activity Levels. Relaxed means they won’t attack you unless you attack them and they’ll be weaker. Fierce means they’re more aggressive and stronger. Those can be chosen at the start of a new game or at any time in options.

Here’s the trailer highlighting everything:

Pikmin 4 is available for the Switch, and its Relaxed and Fierce Mode, Decor Pikmin, and Photo Mode will appear in an update patch in November 2025. Pikmin Bloom is available on mobile devices and gets Ice Pikmin on November 1, 2025.
