Tales series producer, Yusuke Tomizawa, announced that Bandai Namco is currently developing at least two more remasters of previous Tales games, with Xillia 2 as one of them. Bandai Namco plans to reveal the next remaster title soon; this title will likely not be Xillia 2, despite the Xillia remaster coming out next week. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

All the information, including details about the remaster project and the upcoming Xillia remaster, comes from the latest issue of Famitsu. Information on the next Tales remaster will likely come after Xillia comes out on October 30, 2025. Last year, Yuki Ishikawa, the producer of Tales of Graces f Remastered had expressed an interest in remastering Tales of the Abyss. Early this year, Bandai Namco filed a new trademark for the title. If Xillia 2 is still in development and Tomizawa is unable to provide updates on it in his interview with Famitsu, there is a high possibility that Bandai Namco might announce an Abyss remaster next.

According to Tomizawa, over 70% of Tales players are international players. This isn’t because less Japanese users are playing it, but rather hardware distribution and world population ratio. It’s unknown if this statistic had any bearing on Bandai Namco’s decisions on which games they would prioritize remastering first.

Tales of Xillia Remastered will come out on the PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC on October 30, 2025. A remaster of its sequel, Xillia 2, is still in development.
