Shueisha started a new Shonen Jump + manga series called Smiley & Lively: Your Girl Happy, and it is now live in English via Manga Plus as well. Meanwhile, the series Ryota Killed His Brother ended on the same day with chapter 30. The former will appear on a weekly basis. The latter had been running since November 2024. Neither are available physically.

Smiley & Lively: Your Girl Happy features a woman named Happy. She is barely getting by and depressed, but maintains an overly happy and perky facade in public in order to get by in her daily life. The first chapter focuses on what her life is like and how she interacts with others, with a key point being she’ll engage in small kindnesses and good deeds in order to temporarily feel some happiness herself. However, the end of the chapter suggests each installment will look at her getting by and searching for hope.

As for Ryota Killed His Brother, that was a horror series about a Ryota and his brother Chika. His mother died not long after his brother was born and, because of his father’s long hours, he’s spent his whole life sacrificing to raise Chika. However, there are early signs that something isn’t right at the start of the first chapter, and after Ryota’s friend Hayato walks home with the brothers, we get a much better idea of what exactly is happening with Chika.
