Every Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2026 Anime and Game Reveal

Bandai Namco, Shueisha, and Toei Animation shared a number of announcements released to new and ongoing Dragon Ball anime series and games at the Genkidamatsuri event on January 24, 2026. In addition to a new adaptation of Dragon Ball Super and more updates to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, a new game going by Project AGE 1000 is on the way. There’s also a 40th Anniversary Special Video short from Toei Animation, Naoki Miyahara, and Hans Zimmer. We also now know Goku won the global Dragon Ball the One worldwide character popularity poll that started back in November 2025.

First, here’s the Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary Special Video. It focuses on moments taken throughout the series, starting from Akira Toriyama’s earliest pieces of art, and showing Goku’s development. 

In terms of games, here are all the new announcements from Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2026: 

  • Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California between April 18-19, 2026, and it will include a Dragon Ball FighterZ Masters Showdown tournament.
  • Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is confirmed for a Spring 2026 release. Three confirmed characters are Great Demon King Piccolo, Super Android 17 (GT), and Super Saiyan Bardock. 
  • Project AGE 1000 will launch in 2026. Akira Toriyama was working on it before his death and created the new character for it. A full reveal will come at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 in April 2026.

As for the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri 2026 anime announcements, here are the new and updated shows on the way.

  • Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be an updated version of the series and debut in Fall 2026. It will feature additional cuts and scenes, as well as new re-rendering and dubbing. 
  • Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is the next new anime in production, and it will adapt the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc from the manga staring Goku and Vegeta as they face Moro the Planet- Eater.

The next major Dragon Ball event is Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, and that will go over more anime and game announcements between April 18-19, 2026.
