Square Enix promised a Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII Arising Crisis event in FFVII Ever Crisis for that game’s 20th anniversary, and we now know that will begin on January 28, 2026. This crossover will include a story based on the PS2 spin-off, with an initial trailer showing Vincent and Deepground Tsviet members who will show up as we go through chapters and missions. We don’t know what types of exclusive equipment will show up via banners yet, though.

The Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII crossover trailer for FFVII Ever Crisis includes a mix of footage from the PS2 game cinematics paired with gameplay from the event. We see the original scenes of Kalm being attacked and Vincent heading into action. From there, we get an idea of the parts of the game this Arising Crisis portion will cover. Things start with Reeve Tuesti, now head of the World Regenesis Organization (WRO) briefing Vincent on the current situation. He then encounters Rosso the Crimson, and we can see from the background behind them that the two are in Nibelheim where they met in the game. From there, we see Vincent and Reeve with the scientist Shalua Rui. Vincent then is seen visiting Lucrecia Crescent and facing off in a boss battle against the Arch Azul version of Azul the Cerulean.

Here’s that full trailer, which Square Enix shared on social media.

If the Azul the Cerulean boss fight is where the Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII Arising Crisis event ends, then Square Enix would need to hold multiple events in order to tell the full story of the spin-off in FFVII Ever Crisis.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for the PC and mobile devices, and its Dirge of Cerberus FFVII event starts on January 28, 2026. Dirge of Cerberus only appeared on the PS2.
