Toei has revealed a new movie adaptation of the 2001 TV tokusatsu show Kamen Rider Agito that will launch in 2026. It will help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Agito, as well as the 55th anniversary of the Kamen Rider franchise.
The new movie is so far known only by its Japanese title, Agito: Chounouryoku Sensou. This title roughly translates into English as Agito: Superpower War.
Toei has announced that the police officer Makoto Hikawa will be the main character of this movie. Jun Kaname, the actor who performed as Makoto in the 2001 TV show, will return to reprise the same role. The teaser trailer also reveals that Kamen Riders G3 and G3-X from the Metropolitan Police Department will return to action.
The trailer published on the Japanese official website is geo-locked to Japan only. However, Toei has also published the same trailer on its global YouTube channel. This version includes options for subtitles in English, Spanish, and Traditional Chinese.
This anniversary title will be a new major Kamen Rider live-action movie that is not based on the franchise’s annual TV show. The previous one was Shin Kamen Rider, a reboot of the 1971 Kamen Rider show directed by Hideaki Anno, which launched in 2023.
Agito: Chounouryoku Sensou will launch first in Japanese theaters on April 29, 2026. Toei has also teased that the same movie will be available overseas afterward.
