A week after the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Sony announced the first State of Play of 2026 that will reveal upcoming PS5 games. That will be held at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET on February 12, 2026, which will be 7am JST on February 13, 2026. The PlayStation Blog reveal confirmed it will appear on Twitch and YouTube again. While the PS5 was mentioned, the PSVR2 headset was not.
This first State of Play of 2026 will be an extended one that will prioritize PS5 games. It will last for over an hour. Sony did note that PlayStation Studios updates will appear, which could mean first-party console and PC games. However, it also mentioned third-party titles and indie ones will show up.
Placeholders are already live on YouTube for a number of the showcases. In addition to the English one, which you can see below, there will be a Japanese presentation and a simulcast one with English subtitles.
Sony also noted that co-streaming and video-on-demand backups are fine. However, the company warned that copyrighted materials like music could lead to strikes that might take it down.
As for what we might see, it could be an opportunity to learn more about established series and entirely new reveals. For example, we know that there’s the third Final Fantasy VII Remake entry eventually on the way. Ghost of Yotei: Legends could show up again too.
The 2026 Sony State of Play showcase will appear at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET on February 12, 2026, and that will last at least an hour.
