Capcom announced a special Monster Hunter Wilds event quest dedicated to Rompopolo, the least-hunted monster in the game, that will be one of the most difficult in the game and feature an especially notable mask as a reward. It will start on February 27, 2026, then end on March 18, 2026. Only people who are at HR 100 or higher in the game can fight this version of the monster and earn special equipment based on the character.

This event quest will be called “Just What the Doctor Ordered.” If you meet the requirements, you’ll be able to head to Oilwell Basin to fight a Tempered Rompopolo. It will be far more challenging of a fight than usual, as this will be a 10-star battle. Different types of equipment will be able to be forged if you beat it. In addition to six glowing, heart-shaped pendants in the trailer and an ominous lantern, it will be possible to create Rompomask α if you survive and get the materials from the fight. There are two variants for how this will look when equipped, with one featuring the sacs inflated and the other deflated.

Capcom also announced a new permanent event quest. It will be called “Neon Neopterons.” That’s a four-star mission for people at HR 16 or higher. You’ll head to Wounded Hollow to fight slimes. Winning means you get a little slime companion pendant, with seven options available. That will debut on February 24, 2026.
