Bandai Namco Experience announced that it will start doing location tests in Japan for its Biohazard RE:2 Arcade game booths, which is essentially Resident Evil 2 Remake Arcade, in mid-March 2026. It is planning to release the full versions of the title based on the console and PC release in Japan and Europe sometime in 2026, though there’s no word on when we might see it in North America.

According to the press release, the arcade booths will feature gimmicks that make the experience more immersive. The gun will feel real (likely haptic feedback that emulates gun recoil), a vibrating floor, and compressed air that shoots out at the player. In a trailer for the game, we can see familiar enemies like Lickers and Mister X. The playable characters (Leon and Claire) can also pick up Green Herbs to restore their health, much like in the original title.

There are some differences between the Biohazard RE:2 Arcade arcade version of Resident Evil 2 Remake and the actual game, though. In the trailer, we can see Leon and Claire having to deal with Hunter Gammas. These guys debuted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (including the remake), so Leon and Claire never had to deal with them while in Raccoon City. There’s also a scene of both Leon and Claire going outside to meet Ada, even though Claire never did.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Arcade will appear in Japan in mid-March 2026 for a location test, and the full version will appear in Japanese and European arcades in 2026. Resident Evil 2 Remake is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
