Cygames confirmed two major updates for Umamusume: Pretty Derby, with one being a new Trackblazer: Star of the Climax Career scenario and the other a banner with the three-star Kitasan Black and two-star Matikanetannhauser Trainees. Both arrive on March 12, 2026. Both also appear on the same day as the new story event tied to career mode called “Flying Run-Up.”

In Trackblazer: Star of the Climax, you’re still following a character through a Career and determining what they do and how they grow. However, this time you get points for which races you compete in based on their “grade” and points based on if you come in first through fifth. Those points can be spent on items to influence stats, bonds, and conditions. “Flying Run-Up” is a standard Career event with episodes of a story to unlock and rewards for hitting certain point tiers.

Here’s the trailer for the Trackblazer: Star of the Climax Career scenario. It follows the second URA Finale one that launched in October 2025.

As for the  three-star Kitasan Black and two-star Matikanetannhauser Trainee banner in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, both are best at Medium and Long races on Turf. Kitasan best as a Front Runner, while Matikanetannhauser can be a Pace Chaser or Late Surger. Unlike her SSR card, Kitasan Black doesn’t have Professor of Curvature, but you can get Corner Adept or Corner Recovery from her random Career events.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is available for the PC and mobile devices, and the Kitasan Black and Matikanetannhauser Trainee banner and Trackblazer: Star of the Climax Career Scenario arrive on March 12, 2026.
