Chapter 231 of the Chainsaw Man manga ended with a teaser that suggested part 2, which is the Academy Saga, will end on March 24, 2026. The latest entry is currently available to read for free on MangaPlus and Viz Media. However, since it debuted on March 10, 2026, the text at the bottom of the last page changed to suggest only this one portion of the story will be done, rather than the series as a whole. This will close out a storyline that began in volume 12.

The Academy Saga in Chainsaw Man involved multiple protagonists, with Denji as one and starting out living a normal school life and Asa as a fellow student in something of a similar state as him. While he is no longer a Devil Hunter, folks from Public Safety are still following and keeping up with him. However, other Devils are still a major issue, and the Four Horsemen are looming about.

Chapter 231 of Chainsaw Man initially ended with ambiguous text in English that made it seem like it could be the complete end of the manga, rather than only part 2. It initially closed with, “Final chapter coming 3/24.” You can see that screenshot from MangaAlerts. Since then, both the MangaPlus and Viz Media releases close with “to be continued.” As this started in chapter 98, it seems it will have run for 134 chapters total. The first Public Safety part ran for 97 chapters.

Chapter 232 of Chainsaw Man will arrive on March 24, 2026 worldwide, and it seems it will mark the end of part 2 of the manga. The manga is available via Viz Media outside Japan, and the anime is on Crunchyroll.
