Square Enix ended its run of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy character trailers with one looking at the original Warrior of Light. It highlights how he’ll work in battle, with the fighter being a supporter rather than a melee unit or DPS. He’s based on the party members from the NES JRPG.

The Warrior of Light is based more upon Yoshitaka Amano art than in-game sprites, as highlighted by the early moments of the character trailer. It shows the general party of fighters from the NES Final Fantasy game. It then shows his more casual attire here. It also confirms Toshihiko Seki is reprising the role after playing him in past Dissidia games, World of Final Fantasy, and Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Someone might also recognize Seki as Demon Slayer’s Muzan Kibutsuji, Genshin Impact’s Dottore, Gundam’s Duo Maxwell, Saiyuki’s Genjo Sanzo, and Virtua Fighter’s Goh Hinogami.

As for his role in battle, it seems like Warrior of Light helps support allies with defensive abilities. We see a number of skills with shields involved, though he attacks with a sword. Some of the abilities highlighted here are Shining Saber, Shining Wave, Supreme Soul, and Ultimate Shield.

With the Warrior of Light trailer out now, we’ve now seen dedicated videos for all of the launch Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy cast members. In case you missed some of the past ones that appeared, here’s the list in order of when their games debuted.

As of right now, there are no confirmed representatives for FFI, FFIII, FFX, FFXI, FFXII, and FFXVI. It is unknown if this game could also end up getting representatives from spin-offs like Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia did.

We’ll see Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy in March 2026, and it is possible to pre-register for the Android and iOS game now.
