Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo offered more insight into the free Nioh 3 DLC update and confirmed it will mean more Battle Scrolls side missions with new rewards tied to them. It will launch next week on April 27, 2026. While there are no screenshots and we didn’t get a trailer teasing what to expect, Producer Kohei Shibata listed what we can expect on the official site.
Everything seems to be tied into endgame elements in Nioh 3, with many of the additions tied to the new Battle Missions and offering additional challenges. Shibata specifically mentioned those sidequests will be “high-difficulty.” If someone beats the missions like that, they will get new skills. Shibata didn’t hint at what those could be. Stone of Penance will also increase difficulty to increase accessory rarities and values. Graces rebalancing will also be present.
This isn’t the first update to appear for free. Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo also released a cosmetic. That was a Thunderous Equipment Set that offered new looks for both ninjas and warriors. Those were celebratory pieces to commemorate the game passing one million in sales and the series hitting 10 million total.
Nioh 3 is available for the PS5 and PC, and the free Battle Scrolls update will arrive on April 27, 2026.
