Rather than hold a Direct presentation to bring up new details, Nintendo announced the release date and dropped a trailer for Splatoon Raiders out of nowhere. The Switch 2 game will release on July 23, 2026. The company also confirmed there will be amiibo of Deep Cut members Big Man, Frye, and Shiver out the same day.
This installment involves fighting alone or alongside others as you take down Salmonids and collect treasure. In Splatoon Raiders, we can go up against Salmonids alone or with three people over local or online multiplayer. (Multiplayer is optional, as it is a single-player experience.) If we play alone, then our Deep Cut Mechanic can fight alongside alongside Big Man, Frye, or Shiver as they use a bot to help you fight at different spots on the Spirhalite Islands. As we explore, we can eventually get Spirhalite Shards and materials to build gadgets to help with dealing with Salmonids as we go after relics to sell for money. These mean new kinds of weapons that we can equip or place in the field as we fight, like the Splatchet. It’s also possible to tinker with those items to increase those capabilities.
The new Splatoon Raiders trailer consists only of gameplay footage. It starts by showing the customization process for the Mechanic avatar. After that, we see what it’s like to explore the islands, fight Salmonids, deal with bosses, craft gadgets, and work alongside Deep Cut. The new amiibo appear at the very end of the trailer.
Deep Cut first appeared in Splatoon 3. The trio acted as announcers and leaders for Splatfests, During those events, there would be three possible sides you could choose from, rather than two like in the first two games.
Splatoon Raiders is headed to the Switch 2, and the release date is July 23, 2026.
