HoYoVerse shared a new video with members of the Zenless Zone Zero development team discussing what we can expect from the Season 3 update once it arrives. Currently, we’re on version 2.7, and the 2.8 patch is expected to arrive on May 6, 2026.
This is actually a pretty lengthy discussion going over Zenless Zone Zero Season 3, as it is over 17 minutes long. It starts by bringing up where the story will go in the campaign. Things begin with Peng saying the Helios Academy legacy power the Proxies Belle and Wise first showed after facing Bringer are coming to a head and possibly going out of control. We’ll see that plot point come up again and see them pursue Flint Porcelloy following Ramiel taking it in 2.7. The Etheric Other Pyrois Agent will appear too. This also means peeks into Phaethon’s past at Helios Academy will come up, as will the factions Krampus Compliance Authority, Marcel Group, and Public Safety.
Lady Sunbringer’s classified airspace zone Roscaelifer will also be a new place to visit. While Peng first brought up the area, which will also be a haven for Bangboo, Xiaoyu discussed more elements of it. Roaring Brekkies will be a surprise box shop to check in at there, and Coff Cafe will sell coffee and tea. The Interboo Terminals will appear for the first time in the city and combat zone. It is the Bangboo Network that allows us to get profiles of those characters and explore. That has an Interboo Account tied to it with additional rewards. There will also be a permanent Bangboo game mode that involves restoring them and managing a secret base. The combat areas there will bring up the Singularity Leakage mentioned in Season 2 to create Hollow-style spaces with Ethereals. At the end of this part and start of the third, ZK also appeared to confirm the Wind element will launch in this upcoming season.

At the end of the video, the future updates roadmap teased the 2.8 Season 2 Epilogue, the 3.0 Season 3.0: A Sleepwalker’s Confession, and Season 3.1: The Long Goodbye.
In the meantime, there’s an anticipated character showing up in Zenless Zone Zero 2.8. That’s when we get the S-rank version of the Agent Billy Kid. Only the A-rank version of him has been available since launch. He and Promeia will be the two units in that update.
Zenless Zone Zero is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, the Special Program for 2.8 airs on April 24, 2026, and the next patch should arrive on May 6, 2026.
