Bandai Namco announced some of its MegaHouse anime figures and its other brands’ merchandise will be sold in a Mega Kawaii Mart in Chicago pop-up shop in Mitsuwa Marketplace. This will appear in the back of the Mitsuwa branch in Arlington Heights, Illinois. It will open on May 15, 2026 and replaces the Tokusatsu pop-up that appeared there in March 2026. In the past Digimon and Banpresto stores appeared in that location. It seems the Mega Cat Project items and Look Up figures will be featured.

On the Mega Kawaii Shop social media, a launch event announcement appeared. Apparently, someone will show up in a Nyaruto mascot costume for photo ops. That will happen  May 15-16, 2026, though the person will only appear between 11:00-11:30am CT each day. Nyaruto is the Naruto Uzumaki representative from the Mega Cat Project line of anime merchandise that depicts popular characters as cats.

While not open yet, the pop-up shop is being set up at the back of Mitsuwa. It is next to the One Piece Card Game shop and Pastry House Hippo bakery at the back of the grocery store section. Look Up figures and Mega Cat Project figures will definitely be in stock, with characters from Naruto and One Piece represented. It also looks like there will be merchandise based on Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. It also looks like there will be four Gashapon machines with tie-in items, separate from the regular Gashapon set-up found near the Kinokuniya branch.

The Bandai Namco Mega Kawaii Mart in Chicago pop-up shop will sell MegaHouse figures and merchandise at Mitsuwa Marketplace starting on May 15, 2026. There’s no end date for this limited time storefront yet. Mitsuwa Marketplace is at 100 E. Algonquin Rd in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
