To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman franchise, Tsuburaya Productions and Bandai Namco announced there will be release a Digimon Color virtual pet toy based on it. More information on this crossover will appear at a later date, and there will be two different versions to choose from when it launches. It is unknown if it will appear worldwide like Digimon Godzilla units.
Like other Digimon toys, you will be able to raise your own Ultraman character on the go, with how you treat them determining how they evolve. As there is no information on the collaboration yet, the comments section of the post is full of people who are trying to guess the characters that will be part of this special edition.
In the Digimon series, Digimon can appear as both traditional monsters (such as the dinosaur-adjacent Greymon) or take on more humanoid forms (like the beautiful Angewomon). Not only do kaiju often appear as enemies to take down in Ultraman, the Ultras themselves are extraterrestrials that might be considered potential “digital monsters” to take care of in the toys. Ultimately, though, we will need to wait for further announcements from Bandai Namco to know what to expect to raise.
These aren’t the first collaboration Digimon toys from Bandai Namco. For the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter series, Bandai Namco collaborated with Capcom to release special edition Digimon toys. You could raise iconic monsters like Rathalos, Khezu, and more. In 2025, it also released a Godzilla edition, which included original G cells-infected Digimon.
More information on the Ultraman Digimon toys will appear at a later date.
