Rohto put out a teaser video of its Dragon Quest King Slime eyedrops being prepared in its factories. A limited amount of these eyedrops will appear in drugstores and e-commerce sites across Japan on June 10, 2026. It’s unknown if we might also see them appear worldwide via places like Amazon or Japanese grocery stores. Standard Rohto eye drops are sold on Amazon.
Here’s the footage of the eyedrops being added to the shaped vials for the collaboration.
Rohto will release three different types of the King Slime eyedrops, which will come in containers that resemble the monster from the Dragon Quest franchise. They’re all for cloudy or tired eyes, but there’s one you can use even with contact lenses on your eyes, and another for really tired eyes. Rohto claims that the eyedrops are as chilling as spells in the Crack, or Hyado, series. In the game, the Crack (Hyado) spells create ice shards.
Slimes are to Dragon Quest as Chocobos or Moogles are to Final Fantasy. Because of their simple shapes and faces, they are extremely recognizable and cute, which means they often appear as merchandise for the series. Earlier this year 2026, Square Enix and Taito released computer mice based on Bubble Slime and Metal Slime as crane game prizes. This isn’t even the first time that Rohto released eyedrops in containers that resemble Slimes. In 2017, it released the same three kinds of eyedrops in Slime containers.
The King Slime eyedrops will come out on June 10, 2026, and they will be in drugstores across Japan while supplies last. The newest mainline entry in the series, Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams, is in development, and a new trailer for it came out in May 2026.
