The First Descendant is getting its first anime series crossover with a new event that brings Evangelion characters to the game. It will start in-game on June 18, 2026. While details are still slim, we do know three heroines from the Rebuild of Evangelion quartet of movies will be involved thanks to a first trailer.

Asuka Shikinami Langley, Mari Illustrious Makinami, and Rei Ayanami are the three characters highlighted in the crossover trailer. All three are shown in their plugsuits from the first movie in the Rebuild line. We also get a look at some of the weapon skins that will appear as part of this event at the 50 second mark. Apparently emotes will be present too, but those don’t seem to be shown off just yet.

Here’s the trailer teasing The First Descendant Evangelion skins.

This is the third major crossover event we’ve seen for The First Descendant. A number of other ones showed up. Two especially notable ones appeared in 2025. One involved Bayonetta, and the other brought NieR: Automata’s 2B and 9S to the game.

The First Descendant is available on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and its Evangelion crossover event with Asuka, Mari, and Rei starts on June 18, 2026. The Evangelion anime is streaming on Netflix and Rebuild movies are on Amazon
