The Japanese Fire Emblem social media account shared information about Theodora, who will be one of the playable protagonists in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. It noted that she’ll be a polearm fighter who also uses Gambits like ones we saw in the previous game. Previous protagonists introduced were Cai and Dietrich.
According to her character description from the Fire Emblem Twitter account, Theodora is the young queen of the Saramis Kingdom, a vassal to the Dagdan Empire. Her title on her character art is “Megaera’s Torch.” She has an indomitable will and stands up to every challenge or difficulty that comes her way. Theodora is blessed with the qualities necessary for a monarch who rules over people. She likes competition and the happiness of her people.
In battle, she wields a weapon called Mahamadu’s Spear. This is an unofficial translation, and so the English localization will most likely use another name for it. Her trailer shows off how she can use Gambits, a main combat mechanic in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, in battle. With Gambits, she uses Battalions to launch AoE attacks or conduct healing. It seems to imply that Gambits are no longer something that anyone can do if they have a Battalion.
In Japanese, Minami Takayama voices Theodora. There is no information so far on her English voice actress. Takayama debuted in 1987, and she is a singer too. Some of her most prominent roles include Conan in Detective Conan, Envy in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Hinata in the Danganronpa series, and Hao in Shaman King.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will come out on the Switch 2 on September 17, 2026.
