We first started hearing about this crossover back when the 2025 Sanrio Character Ranking came up. Sonic in his Hello Kitty hat showed up back then. This round includes the six established icons in the line. That pairs Sonic the Hedgehog with Hello Kitty, Tails with Cinnamoroll, Knuckles the Echidna with Kuromi, Amy Rose with My Melody, Shadow the Hedgehog with Hangyodon, and Eggman with Pompompurin. Sega confirmed there will be two sets of blind box flocked figures in Enjoy or Relas styles for 1,870 yen (~$11.60) each, blind box acrylic standees for 880 yen (~$5.50) each, Sonic or Shadow purses for 4,810 yen (~$30) each, Sonic or Shadow coin purses for 3,630 yen (~$22.50) each, and six kinds of die-cut hand towels of characters’ faces for 1,650 yen (~$10.20) each.

Here’s how all of those new pieces of Sonic & Friends Sanrio character merchandise will look when they make their debut in Japan in July 2026:

These follow additional acrylic character stands and pins that launched in May 2026. Those also featured the same six characters wearing the hats based on Sanrio mascots.

The new Sonic & Friends Sanrio character merchandise will start to roll out in Japan in July 2026, and we’ll likely see these sorts of acrylic standees, coin purses, flocked figures, purses, and towels worldwide after that.
