The Love and Deepspace Anime Expo 2026 booth and events are changed to reflect the decision to pull the sixth love interest Valko, as the character will now no longer appear at the event. Infold and Paper Games confirmed they pulled the character from its plans at the convention on social media. This applies to all activities, merchandise distribution, and the planned 2026 Giveaway Pack for the event.

Prior to the abrupt cancelation due to a vocal minority in China’s response to the character, Infold and Paper Games confirmed part of the Love and Deepspace Anime Expo 2026 activities and promotions would involve Valko alongside previously released characters Caleb, Rafayel, Sylus, Xavier, and Zayne. This included an option to take part in an Interactive Session with a cosplayer dressed as the newcomer. (Only sales of official merchandise of the other five love interests were always planned.)

The new update now states that people who had selected Valko as their Interactive Session partner will still be able to participate in the activity. However, the update does mean they will need to select a different character. The company noted those who registered for him will receive emails regarding the change.

Since the latest decisions, Infold also started to remove references to the character online. For example, while the Love and Deepspace Valko YouTube trailers can be accessed directly, they are now unlisted. Here are the links to three of them in the order they were released:

Since the decision to cancel the character, there has been a global response. In addition to social media posts, petitions requesting Infold and Paper Games reinstate the character launched online. As of time of writing, the iPetition one passed 167,800 signatures and one on Change.org passed 73,900.

Love and Deepspace is available on Android and iOS devices. Anime Expo runs July 2-5, 2026.
