Sousuke Nikaido, the late Yukiko Nikaido’s second son and the representative of the Yatsugatake Club, announced the news through the horticulture facility’s social media. The family funeral took place on the 7th, and there will be no memorial service. He also states that Yukiko Nikaido had been in a care facility for the past eleven years, and it was thanks to the staff’s devoted care that she could enjoy her golden years in peace and quiet. The younger Nikaido offers them his heartfelt thanks, as well as states that his mother’s earnest personality and love of beautiful things still exist in various parts of the Yatsugatake Club.
Yukiko Nikaido worked as a voice actress in the 1960s and 1980s, and her most famous role is Fujiko Mine in Lupin the 3rd Part 1. This is not to be confused with Lupin III: The First, which is a 2019 movie. She also appeared in 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother as Anna and in Kamui as Sugaru. She mostly retired from entertainment in 1972, and she became the first president of the Yatsugatake Club in 1989.
Sousuke states that though it’s sad to bid his loved one farewell, he hopes that his mother has reunited with his father and older brother, and that they continue to watch over Yatsugatake Club together.
