Square Enix shared, for the first time, the Tetsuya Nomura Final Fantasy XIV concept art that led to the design of the final “reimagined” form of Kefka in the FFXIV Dawntrail expansion Dancing Mad (Ultimate) Raid. The official art highlights the change in his design that follows the godlike version that is more directly inspired by his FFVI appearance. At the moment, the image is only on social media and hasn’t been added to the 7.5 patch series official site like concept art and screenshots for updates like 7.55.

As a quick refresher, Dancing Mad (Ultimate) is a level 100 Raid that debuted after patch 7.51 launched. It allows up to eight people to head into a fight against not only Kefka, but also Exdeath and Chaos. As part of that, the fifth and final phase of the fight involves the new form of the recurring villain. While he retains the wings from his god form, he only has two of them and they are much smaller. He also gains a new staff he uses for his attacks.

We’re about to learn a lot more about things to come in FFXIV soon. The Berlin, Germany Fan Festival is about to start on July 25, 2026. That will include a keynote and a new Letter from the Producer Live XCIII stream that will go over 7.56 updates and the Beastmaster job. That will also feature an appearance from Lead Battle Content Designer Masaki Nakagawa as a result. That stream will start at 1am PT/4am ET on July 25, 2026 on places like YouTube.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and patch 7.55 arrives in FFXIV on July 28, 2026. The Switch 2 version will appear in August 2026.
